And are you sooo ready for more travel and adventure in your life again?
What if you had a whole weekend away to completely rejuvenate and focus on yourself…
Where you can eat the most nourishing food, practice yoga, swim in the sea, chill on the beach, and totally rest and relax.
And all of this in a stunning location with luxurious accommodation, surrounded by uplifting warm and encouraging people.
Hi, I’m Jen and I’m a yoga teacher, plant based chef and the founder of Shine Yoga.
For the past decade, I’ve lived in Cornwall and taught uplifting, empowering and feel-good yoga classes and retreats right here beside the sea.
I know how busy life can get, how tired and stressed we all feel from time to time…
And I’ve seen again and again how transformative the magical mix of time by the ocean combined with uplifting yoga, nourishing food and wonderful company can be.
That’s why I created Shine Yoga retreats. These warm and welcoming one-of-a-kind breaks are filled with everything you need to reset, recharge and feel radiant.
I’m SO excited to welcome you to a Shine Yoga retreat and help you to feel your most energised and glowing self.
For 8 years I’ve been running Shine Yoga retreats here in this stunning location on the south coast of Cornwall. I honestly couldn’t have dreamed of a more incredible setting…
We’re just down the road from a plethora of hidden coves and wide sandy beaches. There’s crystal clear water to dive into or winding coastal paths to hike along and take in the views. There’s nowhere else in the world like it. You’ll feel your stress melt away the moment you see the sea!
You’ll be firmly off the beaten track, and in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. There will be time to explore the secluded beaches and secret spots not many people know about.
And there’s nothing like a dip in the ocean or an hour sat on the warm sand watching the waves to help you completely switch off, reset and feel refreshed.
Stay in gorgeous Mongolian-style yurts…
The yurts are the ultimate in luxury glamping. Each yurt contains a double bed and single futons as well as flowers from the garden, beautiful bed spreads, cushions and colourful rugs.
The wood-burning stove in your yurt will keep you warm on cooler evenings. Solar powered fairy lights add to the magical atmosphere and the bathrooms with hot showers are a short stroll away.
There’s also a wonderful wood fired hot tub for you to relax in. It’s perfect at any time but even more gorgeous in the evening when the stars are out, the candles are lit, and the fairy lights twinkle.
If you’re travelling on your own you can choose to stay in a shared yurt with two other guests or book your own private yurt.
There are also 2 rooms available in the dreamily cosy and comfy Long Barn.
If you want the feeling of being surrounded by nature, whilst being luxuriously comfy, this is the place for you.
Sunlight streams in through the huge windows all day and you have a gorgeous view of green meadows, apple trees and blue sky.
In the evening the barn is toasty warm (with underfloor heating). Strings of tiny golden lights twinkle on the wooden ceiling beams and tea lights glow from lanterns on every surface.
It’s the perfect place relax, slow down and recharge. Curl up on a comfy sofa to read or listening to your favourite podcast. Or sit at the big wooden table to write or draw.
And you’ll have your own kitchen so you can make your morning tea whilst looking out the window and listening to the birds. It’s such a tranquil way to start the day.
You can book a room for 2, or your own private room.
Your yoga classes will be a mix of vibrant vinyasa flow and deeply relaxing slow flow/yin/restorative yoga. Morning classes will be fluid, dynamic and invigorating to leave you energised and glowing. The late afternoon classes will be slow, calming and rejuvenating. You’ll float out of these classes feeling so revitalised and relaxed.
All classes will be taught by me, Shine Yoga founder, Jen Austin. My teaching style is warm, laid back and encouraging. I’ll be there to cheer you on, encourage you and share my 10 years of knowledge as a yoga teacher with you.
We will have lots of fun, laugh and you’ll have time to slow down completely and rest deeply.
The yoga classes will take place in our beautiful rustic barn space. Over the retreat there will be 5 yoga classes. You’ll be given blocks, blankets, straps and eye pillows to make your practice even more comfortable and relaxing.
Classes are suitable for all levels from total beginners with plenty of options so you can do just what feels right for you.
Green juices, raw brownies, super food salads, beautiful blueberry smoothies, mango flapjacks and local, seasonal Cornish vegetables cooked on the bbq.
From your morning smoothie to your slice of raw vegan lemon and blueberry cheesecake after dinner you’ll nourish your body with the most delicious, healthy food to leave you feeling energised and radiant with health.
You’ll leave the retreat full of inspiration to create healthy and delicious dishes at home and with some brilliant recipes you’ll make again and again.
Our menu is based around plant based whole foods with plenty of gorgeous healthy treats. Are you gluten free/dairy free/vegan? Wonderful – you will eat sensationally!
We know arriving at a yoga retreat can be a bit nerve wracking! Especially when you’re showing up on your own. This first class will help you to feel wonderfully welcome, comfortable and at ease. Plus you’ll get to release those travel kinks, wind down from your busy week and let go of stress. You’ll float out of the class chilled out and ready for a dreamy weekend.
We have so much fun in these classes! Get ready to feel energised and radiant with dynamic vinyasa flow. You’ll try new poses and learn so many tips and techniques to help you in your yoga practice. You’ll enjoy playful flowing sequences and use powerful breathing techniques to shake off sluggishness and feel your most vibrant.
Experience all of the yummiest yoga practices for relaxation and rejuvenation wonderfully woven together. These classes will incorporate yin yoga, restorative yoga, slow flow, breathing techniques, meditation and guided relaxation.
Prepare to be blissfully transported into a deeply tranquil state with this ‘yogic sleep’ practice. This special guided relaxation will help you rest deeply, reset completely and float off your mat centred calm and replenished.
Yes you read that right! We have a wonderful wood fired hot tub for you to soak in. It will feel amazing on your tired (but very happy) muscles after two yoga classes and a hike along the coastal path or to the beach. It’s sensational at any time of day but in even more magical in the evening after dark when you can stare up at the stars whilst surrounded by candles and fairy lights.
Feast on colourful salads, delectable dips, bbq veggies and luscious raw desserts. There’s no boring or bland food here. In fact, prepare to be astounded by how delicious, satisfying and nutritious every meal is.
At Shine Yoga brunch is our favourite meal of the day and we celebrate it in style! Take a seat at our wildflower laden long table, enjoy the sunshine and savour the most yummy, nourishing vegetarian food surrounded by wonderful people.
On Sunday afternoon we’ll eat sweet treats in the sunshine. There will be fresh fruit and a vegan cake, or maybe some raw millionaires shortbread bites!
Plus throughout the retreat you can help yourself to tea, coffee, herbal teas and snacks whenever you like. Make yourself to a mug of tea and sit out on your yurt terrace to enjoy the tranquil morning in the meadows before your first yoga class. Or help yourself to a mango and coconut flapjack after a coastal walk and wild swim.

Great atmosphere, wonderful food, yoga I could undertake at my own pace / level and of course Jen was delightful. I have even changed some bad habits since the weekend! In a word, wonderful.

Thank you so much for a wonderful yoga weekend, the location and the yurts were just beautiful, the yoga classes were a great combination for all levels and the vegetarian food was just AMAZING. I have come home feeling more confident in yoga, healthier and I shall look forward to trying the recipes out at home.

“Had such a special and restorative weekend”
The food was fantastic and has inspired me to get creative again, the yoga was so great, so nice to have the time to work on poses and try new things, and all with the help of new friends I feel inspired to practice more at home now, to work in a more meditative way. Jen’s energy was so radiant and welcoming, Shine is the perfect name for it!
– LAURIE S.
“I honestly left feeling like a different person!!! Re-energised! “
Feel amazing after all the yoga, learning to breathe properly during the classes, wonderful food, location etc ensured the weekend was as relaxed as possible. Already feel more focused (enjoying the moment and just feeling grateful). I have taken so much away from Jen’s teaching and outlook on life. Not to mention some new friends and terrific recipes.
” I’m a happy yogi bunny after this weekend and I’ve made new friends for life.”
An incredible weekend. Every thought made it a wonderful retreat experience, from the location to the teaching, the food and all the little bits like the chakra balancing aromatherapy oils, eye pillows and inspiring readings. Jen’s personality is so naturally welcoming and her energy sublime, it set a natural tone for the weekend and I can personally say I felt truly at ease with myself the whole weekend. I feel really inspired to carry on with what I’ve achieved this weekend in yoga.
– DENISE D.
“I have learnt so much this weekend, not just the yoga but the lovely food and recipes too, I never knew eating healthily could be so delicious!”
The location was really special. It was so peaceful (apart from our constant laughter!) we felt completely relaxed and at ease to be ourselves without judgement. I also loved feeding the animals on the farm and was only disappointed I was not able to take Larry the sheep home!
Jen, your food was amazing. The way the day was split between yoga, free time and dining was perfect.
We had a wonderful time on Fowey shopping in the little boutique shops and went to a beautiful beach – you have to try the blackberry ice-cream at Talland Bay! I have recommended this retreat to all my friends and colleagues and will definitely be coming to another!
“Taking time for myself in such a beautiful, natural and welcoming environment has done wonders, I feel calmer and more at peace than ever.”
Jen really does put her heart and soul into planning the weekends perfectly, the sessions were wonderfully varied and tailored to the time of day and length of the weekend. Jen is a wonderful instructor, she is patient, encouraging, has a lovely soothing voice and encourages a bit of a sense of humour!
Her cooking is really impressive, everything was delicious and super satisfying, my skin and digestion are still reaping the benefits and I’ll definitely be trying some of the recipes at home!
I had a fab, fab time.
