Mermaid Flow Online Yoga Class

Transform in to a magical mermaid in this hip opening, ocean inspired, water element infused, online vinyasa flow yoga class.

Take a deep sea dive in to hip openers, back bends, strengthening standing poses and shoulder stretches, stoking your creativity and fluidity, as you move towards the bold and beautiful mermaid pose. Prepare to bask in feelings of flexibility, fluidity, strength and spaciousness, just like a mermaid on a tropical beach!

The class starts slowly allowing you to find freedom and openess in the your chest and shoulders before progressing to dynamic heat building movement with deep hip openers, quad stretches and backbends. Every pose and movement will bring you closer to the challenging and wondrous mermaid pose.

Now be warned, I’m very new to creating online videos, so the sound and picture quality isn’t the best (the sound does improve considerably after the first minute or so), but I hope you can enjoy it anyway and I’ll be working behind the scenes on creating higher quality videos for next time! Plus my camera ran out of battery 8 minutes before the end so please add on your own twist ( 5 deep breaths on each side), knees to chest (5 deep breaths) and savasana (5 minutes) after you’ve finished the class.

This is an intermediate level vinyasa flow class, suitable for those with some vinyasa flow experience, so if you haven’t practiced yoga at all before this probably isn’t the best place to start (take a look at my feel good flow instead)  As always please make sure you rest whenever you need to and if a pose isn’t feeling good don’t feel like you have to do it.

Once you’ve tried the class I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Take a few seconds to say hello below, let me know what you’d like from the next online class or just say namaste!

    Hi Jen!
I did this practice to start the week early this morning (in my PJs!) and enjoyed it so much! It was the first time I ever attempted mermaid pose, so my expectations of what my body would be able to do were low, While I didn’t get to the full expression of the pose, I was close enough, especially on one side. I feel totally uplifted and energised today! Thank you 🙂

Yes! That’s so great to hear! Getting close to mermaid pose on your first try is fantastic, and I’m so pleased you found the class energising and uplifting. That simple kneeling side stretch and shoulder opener very close to the beginning of the class is one of my favourite movements at the moment – it’s so great in the morning. I’d love to create more online videos so if you have any suggestions for poses or classes you would really like just let me know.

I really loved your January workshop where we did a lot of hip opening to then do baby grasshopper and grasshopper. Something like that would be amazing. It’s great to have a super powerful pose at the end to have a play and see what happens. It’s part of what makes yoga so much fun for me, but I never feel confident enough to try them without guidance.
